This song is an angsty little tune that I wrote in respect to a seemingly notorious group of former male students who called themselves "The Wolf Pack". Some featured on the track were the original "wolf pack," and others were honorary "wolf pack" members. People are quick to judge and to label folks without knowing the full story of who a person is or what they've experienced. This song addresses that very case.

Lyrics

Judgmental glance,
my circumstance each and every day
Making my way,
Ain't gonna stay for your drama
Say what you want I'm gonna do me
Talkin' 'bout things that you just can't see (Yeah)

State of affairs? Nobody cares
Are you listening?
Spreading your lies, getting your highs
breaking me down
Seeking out your joy, looking at my pain
Wash out all your blame pointing at my stains

Oh, cast all your stones, break all my bones
Does it really make you feel better?
Oh, who among you ain't fallen too
Worthy of the scarlet letter? Tell me

Everybody's talkin' 'bout
Something they don't know about
Judging what they think that they see
(But that ain't me)
Everybody, preach what I "should"
Ain't trying to see any good

I was misunderstood
I was misunderstood

Hatred is real. Why do I feel like a castaway?
Living my truth, not in your view
I'm not gonna settle for the status quo
You are in the past. I've already let you go (Yeah)
Make no mistake, all of your hates' gonna make you fall
Looking so small, watching you crawl as I stand tall
You're on the way down watch me as I rise
No, I'm not gonna give you the best years of my life

Oh, cast all your stones, break all my bones
Does it really make you feel better?
Oh, who among you ain't fallen too
Worthy of the scarlet letter? Tell me

Everybody's talkin' 'bout
Something they don't know about
Judging what they think that they see
(But that ain't me)
Everybody, preach what I "should"
Ain't trying to see any good

I was misunderstood
I was misunderstood

Cast all your stones, break all my bones
Does it really make you feel better?
Always tearing me down, talk of the town
Won't let you bring me down with your fetters

I was misunderstood
I was misunderstood

Why you stressin' me, testing me,
Vexing, oppressing me
Kicking me when I was down
Only God knows the pain,
And the hurt, and the shame
That you took me through while you were around
(Lord, Help me)

Oh, cast all your stones, break all my bones
Does it really make you feel better?
Oh, who among you ain't fallen too
Worthy of the scarlet letter? Tell me

Everybody's talkin' 'bout
Something they don't know about
Judging what they think that they see
(But that ain't me)
Everybody, preach what I "should"
Ain't trying to see any good

I was misunderstood
I was misunderstood
